I will be calling amazon and will try to raise the behavior of some of their people to an appropriate management level review. The people I was able to talk with, on the phone or by email, were uniformly understanding and sympathetic, but somewhere behind them, unreachable to me, were people who made decisions they do not want looked at too closely, which is why they have refused to answer my questions.
But I will continue to look, and if I can get amazon management to also look, I think they will be appalled.
Btw, I am a real amazon fan. Amazon has helped me publish and sell my books, and I am also a very happy prime customer for a wide variety of products. What these few amazon employees did to me is not typical of the company, and I feel certain that, at the end of the day, amazon management will do what’s right.
